Amit Gorkhe
Amit Gorkhe was born and raised in Mundhwa village, where he lived with his parents and two siblings. His father, Ganpatrao, was a lower management employee at Bharat Forge, while his mother, Anuradha, worked as a teacher at CMS School in Chinchwad. Even at a young age, Amit realized the need to help his father with the family’s expenses and started working as a newspaper distributor. He would wake up early in the morning to deliver newspapers before going to school, earning Rs. 120 per month. His elder brother, Amol, also contributed to the family income by running a snack kiosk. Despite their financial challenges, the Gorkhe family shared a close bond and Amit’s mother instilled discipline in her children from a young age. Amit went on to complete his education with distinction, but his entrepreneurial spirit led him to start a cultural organization and later, a series of educational institutes that catered to all sections of society.
Amit Gorakhe’s education is truly remarkable, as he has consistently excelled in his academic pursuits. He started his education at PCMC’s Swami Vivekanand Vidyamandir, where he completed his primary schooling. Amit’s dedication and hard work paid off as he achieved a first-class in his secondary education. He then went on to complete his higher secondary education with the same level of excellence. Amit’s passion for learning led him to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree with geography as his special subject, where he continued to excel. He then furthered his education by completing a Master’s degree in Sociology from Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. Amit’s pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there, as he went on to complete an MBA in HR with distinction from Savitribai Phule Pune University. His educational journey is a testament to his commitment towards achieving academic excellence and his determination to succeed in life.

Amit Gorkhe has been awarded several prestigious honors for his remarkable contributions to education and youth development. He received the Swami Vivekanand Youth Award in 2007 and the Late Shri Ramkrishna More Award in 2006. In 2012, he represented India as part of the India-China youth delegation. Amit was also honored with the Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Karmayogi Award in 2014 and named the IBN Lokmat Pimpri-Chinchwad Icon in 2015. In 2016, he received the Rashtriya Bandhuta Parishad – Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Shikshan Puraskar, and in 2018, he was selected as a member for the Maharashtra State Youth policy. Amit’s outstanding work has been recognized nationally, and he was awarded the National Youth Award in 2011-12 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Most recently, he was honored with the Lokmat Achievers Best Educationalist Award in 2023.
